As the typical tourists we went up the Empire State building and it was the most amazing view I have ever seen. On the way up the building there is a lot of information about how, why and when it was built which was extremely interesting and there were also amazing views through the huge windows. It when you get outside that the world opens up and I couldn't really believe that I am going to be living here. I could point out the general direction in which my apartment was in, could see where we had visited in the days before. I am already in love with this city. What was interesting as well about seeing the city from this height was seeing the different between Manhattan which is very built up with skyscrapers and large buildings and New Jersey and Brooklyn which has a lot smaller buildings.
From this height I could also see the urban planning of Manhattan which makes the city near impossible to get lost in. Everything is perpendicular, making it seem like you can stand on one avenue and look through the city past all of the streets.
