NYE in NYC

aliyasapphire

Mother has always wanted to spend NYE in NYC and it just so happens that I live here! I knew that restaurants would get filled up very early so I started looking a couple of months ago for a place to eat. Prices are kind of ridiculous even for NYC standard (Olive Garden -  $400). Mother wanted a view as well which I knew would push the price up quite a lot so I began my search looking for the best restaurants, looking at all the menus, prices, atmosphere, times available etc.

I finally found a view that were expensive but could be worth it and went to check them out. The first, overlooking central park and the city at Columbus Circle was very nice, the menu however was stupid so decided against that. I then found Goannuri on 34th street on the 39th floor! They offered two different sittings, 7ish which was a normal menu and 9ish which was a more expensive set menu but you got to stay for midnight. Mother agreed the last sitting would be worth it and I booked it!

The restaurant lived up to all expectations! Amazing views, the best food, and rang in the new year with views of the times square fireworks which was an incredible surprise. At midnight we all cheers to the new year, and New York, New York. by Frank Sinatra was played followed by What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong.

Had the best night with the best mother. Could not have been better!
