Sunday in the Guggenheim

aliyasapphire

The Guggenheim museum is one of my favourite places in NYC. Went when I first arrived in August I think, to look at the building from the outside and look up from within at its shape and structure. Today I woke up early and took a trip to see the artwork as well as the architecture. Arrived at 10am when it opened and took the elevator to the top so that I could spiral the way down. The art was amazing and reminded me of every piece I looked at in A level art.

The building itself was beautifully designed, the curved wall opens the space up whilst the lower ceilings for the art create an intimate space for viewing. The walls make no sense for the building’s use as a museum but the flow of the building is perfect.
